This review is from: Desolation: Stories (Kindle Edition)
Slightly dark view of a doomed future is a minor connecting thread for this assortment of short stories. Read while on the train commute and certainly worth the entertainment. A minor gripe is the too frequent editing errors, misplaced words, extra words, wrong words.

I had this in my collection for quite a while, having gotten it for free somehow or other. It might have been a freebie of some type. It is in Kindle Unlimited (not Prime though), so if you are interested in getting it free that's one good option. Otherwise it's quite expensive for a short collection of short stories.

I read it on the train between Lehi and Salt Lake City Utah. It's about a half hour ride at both ends of the work day. The stories were suitably dismal and depressing. There is no ray of sunshine in this book. Some horror, some thriller, some alien infestation. It's all there intertwined with a thread woven between them.

From the book description: Author's note: this book is intended for mature audiences. It contains graphic violence, zombies, sex with snake creatures, black magic, global warming, gambling, eugenics, invisible friends, aliens, demons, and of course vultures.

For science fiction and horror fans only, Desolation: Stories contains all 19 of Ken Brosky's horror, fantasy and science-fiction stories in one collection.

Do I recommend it?

If it's free and you need to kill some non-quality time. Get it. Otherwise it's not a $10 book.

Every Book Holds a Little World Inside

When I'm in full on writing mode, I can crank out up to 10,000 words a day. That's not normal though. I try to set a goal of getting in 2,000 words a day, like the old Stephen King writing advice states. “I like to get ten pages a day, which amounts to 2,000 words." Stephen King Goodreads I got quite a few books written in a short time span last fall, then settled down into normal daily life. The intensity required to write a book like "My Sweet Infected" was unexpectedly devastating. I became my protagonist in so many ways as she crept into my psyche and took over for me as I channeled her every thought as I created the story of her awakening. Read the book if you want to know more about this ruined world with humans on the brink of extinction. Find the clues, sort through the chaos, and realize the end is inevitable. The little world inside this book is doomed. Check it out, get the free sample for your Kindle - On Amazon My Sweet Infected (My Inf...

Eternal Redemption - Review [#horror #fantasy]

Eternal Redemption by Paul A. Wunderlich My rating: 2 of 5 stars Rating this: under the little star at position 2nd from the left, there is a little balloon that pops up "It was OK" That's about it. In general, the tone and language seem like a fervent attempt to imitate high fantasy. There are a series of editing errors that cause some confusion. It's tough to write a protagonist who drifts in and out of their own head. Time slips around in circles. An entire world of minions is disposable. When you're sitting at the top of an Everest sized pile of skulls, what's the next big challenge? Oh, yeah, trick the master trickster. Well, you get exactly what you ask for. With a little syrup on the side. View all my reviews

Review: The 10 Biggest #Workout Mistakes

The 10 Biggest Workout Mistakes: Are one of these mistakes slowing your progress? by Dr. Len Lopez My rating: 3 of 5 stars So/So. Average. 3. yep. If you took a handful of bullet points, wrapped them in repetitive catch-phrases, and added in some links to your other projects, you'd have this book. Would it be at all helpful to anyone? Yes, if you are needing to do actual aerobic exercise and need to be smacked in the face with it over and over and over until it works finally - this might be the book that does that. If you're trying to get in shape or achieve some specific level of fitness, then no. View all my reviews
